During a declared storm the county disposal complex is often closed to private haulers so the county can keep its own debris mission eligible for federal reimbursement. We haul to the private transfer stations, C&D recyclers and metal yards the county lists for commercial haulers instead, and we show you the scale ticket.
Storm-damaged contents you set loose and sorted at the curb are eligible for county pickup. Rebuild and renovation scrap is not, and neither is anything a paid hauler leaves at the curb when hauling was in the price. If you want us to stage debris for county pickup instead of hauling it, we write that on the ticket so a debris monitor can read it.

After a declared storm, Pinellas and Hillsborough counties and most cities run curbside pickup of storm-generated debris that residents set loose and sorted at the right-of-way: vegetation in one pile, construction material in another, appliances in a third. It can take weeks to months. What the county will not take is renovation and rebuild scrap, or debris a paid contractor leaves at the curb when hauling was part of the job.
